Pebbles in a Pond

Oct. 12 2009
some things were meant to end
some things were never meant to start
in a world of beginnings and endings
we crave to control when to start, and when to stop
the alpha and the omega,
what comes in between does not seem to matter as much,
but the start and the finish must come in our terms
not knowing that our dire desires
mean as little as a pebble in a pond
we our frustrated by our helplessness
our vulnerability
I guess everything boils down to one answer, conformity
to be in accord with the unforeseen beginnings, or lack of
to deal with the abrupt endings
and to prepare oneself for new starting points,
whenever and however it may come at you.
Like a child, not wanting to believe that Santa is just a story,
I try to make myself believe that everything is just a dream,
but, once again
I am forced to be in truce with my bleak reality
conformance will come…
sooner or later.

the truth still holds,
some things were meant to end
some things were never meant to start
but,
feeble minded as we are,
who are we to know
what was meant to end
and what was never meant to start
conformity and acceptance,
while in certain situations, can be wiser than
blind faith and stubborn denial,
isnt the only choice we have in life
why not take the road less traveled?
what lies at the end of the road
will never be known
unless traveled upon
still like a child,
frightened by the lonely crooked road,
still wishing everything was just a dream
but this time,
I will not be forced to conformity,
my weapon of choice:
Prayer,
Patience,
Perseverance,
and an undying Passion in my heart,
I will take the road less traveled
